Shopping streets
In the centre, at the oposit of the raod from central station you can find Nieuwedijk. it's parallel with the Damrak. Mostly fashion, footwear, sportswear, books and tourist stores. At the end of the Nieuwendijk, walking from the central station in to the centre, you will find the Dam .
Kalverstraat (calf street)
One of the most familiar streets in the netherlands, Kalverstraat has existed for more than 600 years and boasts countless high street stores which offer jewellery, trendy clothing, footwear, sportswear and much more. It isthe busiest stretch of pedestrian shopping in the city.

Bijenkorf - Damrak / Damsquare
Translated into English, the name means ‘The Beehive’ and its quite apt as hoards of people gather to this impressive shopping venue, which is Amsterdam’s equivalent of Harrods in London. It’s the biggest and probably the most famous Amsterdam department store and can be found on Dam Square. All the top designer labels can be found inside as well as cosmetics and other accessories.

Maison De Bonneterie as it’sknown, is an old-fashioned luxury department store, which combines the long tradition of good service with the most modern selection of products. Small and cosi streets with a lot of differentiality of stores. Vintage/ seconds hand clothing, gift shops, art galleries and lots of other shops. Probably the most attractive shopping street in Amsterdam.
