Rembrandt house Museum Amsterdam
Rembrandt's own 17th century house has been restored to reflect his life and times. 2006 marked the famous painter’s 400th birthday and the museum was made to look even better to mark this occasion with the introduction of four major exhibitions. Visitors to the Rembrandt House are invited to find out what Rembrandt's life was like and where he painted and etched his masterpieces. The Museum owns an almost complete collection of Rembrandt's worldfamous etchings. A changing selection is on permanent display in the museum. There are also regular special exhibitions devoted to Rembrandt and to past and present artists who have been inspired by Rembrandt.
